During Monday's booming opening session of the Keeneland September Sale, a Glennwood Farm-consigned Gun Runner half-brother to Triple Crown winner Justify (Scat Daddy) was sold to Winchell Thoroughbreds for $1.9 million.The family, which has served John Gunther and his team so well down the years, continued to bear fruit on Thursday when a colt by Not This Time from a half-sister to Justify fetched an even $2 million. Trainer Chad Summers signed the ticket on behalf of owner Al Gold's Gold Square.“He is a really special horse,” said Summers. “They know how to raise a really nice family. John and Tanya do a great job. We got Napoleon Solo (Liam's Map) from them last time. They had Justify and Vino Rosso, the list goes on and on with the horses that they raise.“The way this market has been and he was by far kind of the standout of the day, so we thought he was a day one horse.”Consigned by Glennwood as hip 803, the Feb. 6 foal is the first foal out of Spell On You (Curlin), unplaced in two trips to the races, but a mare of considerable value owing to her female family.
