India’s hosting of the BRICS summit demonstrated its ability to forge consensus among countries with sharply different interests, Atlantic Council analyst Michael Kugelman said. He called the substantive New Delhi Declaration evidence of India’s growing convening power and BRICS’ appeal as an alternative to Western-led institutions.
