Justin Thomas was forced to withdraw from this week’s Biltmore Championship, just days before the Presidents Cup.The two-time major winner was scheduled to play in the inaugural tournament at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in North Carolina as additional preparation for the upcoming Presidents Cup.Thomas has withdrawn from the Biltmore ChampionshipGettyThomas, a 16-time PGA Tour winner, was named as one of Brandt Snedeker‘s six picks for the team event at Medinah.But the 33-year-old, who was set to be one of the top-ranked names in the field in Asheville this week, will no longer be participating in the $5million event in a blow to the American team.No reason has yet been provided as to why JT pulled out with Cameron Champ named as his replacement. Thomas hasn’t made a competitive appearance since the BMW Championship last month, although he did appear at the two-day Team USA scouting trip to Medinah last week.His 2026 season has been marred by injury, having to wait until March to make his first start of the season after undergoing surgery on his back shortly after the 2025 Ryder Cup.His season debut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational was unspectacular, opening with consecutive 79s, which saw him miss the cut at Bay Hill. However, things did begin to steadily improve for the current world No. 22. Thomas shared 41st place at the Masters, while finishing 17th at the US Open and 65th at The Open.His fourth place at the PGA Championship helped him qualify for the PGA Tour‘s playoffs, but was unable to advance to the Tour Championship.Thomas took to social media back on August 25 where he wrote, at length, about how he felt his season had gone.
