The formula starts with a Platinum Cerakote treatment across the slide, frame, and grip module, a finish that reads bright and metallic rather than the tactical grays and blacks that dominate most of the pistol market. Against that backdrop, SIG runs Burnt Titanium PVD on the controls, trigger, magwell, and compensator, a coating that shifts hue depending on angle and lighting, and one SIG notes will change color further with use (the company recommends an alcohol wipe to restore it). It's a combination that puts NIGHTSHIFT firmly in showpiece territory, but the underlying pistol is still a working competition platform. That platform includes a 4.4-inch bull barrel fitted with SIG's MACH3D compensator, a setup intended to tame muzzle rise for faster recovery between shots. The slide carries SIG-LOC PRO optic-ready milling along with aggressive serrations, and iron-sights-wise, buyers get a fiber optic front paired with a fixed black rear, a straightforward setup for a gun built around dot use. Grip panels are custom Hogue alloy units in an exclusive Circle Cell texture pattern, chosen for control rather than looks alone, though they clearly serve both. Three magazines ship with the pistol: one 23-round and two 21-round units, all P320-compatible steel mags, which keeps the NIGHTSHIFT in line with the rest of SIG's modular magazine ecosystem rather than introducing a proprietary format. The pistol carries a 1913 Picatinny rail up front for lights, and comes equipped with a manual safety. At 46 ounces loaded and just under 8.5 inches long, this isn't a concealment gun, and SIG doesn't market it as one. It's built for the range and for competition use, where the compensator and bull barrel actually earn their keep.
