I am considering going to medical school. I graduated this year and I always thought I was going to study medicine. That’s all I ever thought when I was growing up, I had never ever thought of other career choices. But unfortunately life happened and I never applied for medicine. I went to study at NUST instead at the school of health and applied sciences. I’m considering doing my AS next year, to have stronger chances of getting into medical school. I’m thinking of doing 2 subjects next year, then the remaining the year after. I’ll of course be doing that with a job, so I can fund that, hence why getting a job this year is imperative 😅 But yet again, I’m trying to understand if I’m doing medicine because it’s a societal thing? What if I reach that goal that I always wanted and realize it’s not what I wanted. How do I know? Should I walk away? Also is it worth it? Should I rather just do a masters instead? But I don’t see myself in the field that I studied for the next 5 years in my mind. The pay is quite low as well. Furthermore, I don’t know if the nature of job is satisfactory to me. I’m 22 turning 23 this month.
