Bidding on behalf of Dream Big Stable, bloodstock agent Donato Lanni was extended to $1.5 million to acquire hip 1018, a Gun Runner filly out of the Grade III-placed Ivyetsu (Tapit) from the consignment of Greg Goodman's Mt. Brilliant Farm as agent.“She looks like Gun Runner, Bob [Baffert] loved her” said Lanni. “Gun Runner is probably one of the hottest sires today. And they want to run in the big races. So she kind of looked like that kind of horse that would stretch out and run in those big Classic races. So this is the first horse that Bob's going to train for him. And we bought one in Saratoga for him. This is our second purchase with them.”Mt. Brilliant and Susan Bunning were the names on the docket when Ivyetsu was sold for $650,000 in foal to Into Mischief at Keeneland November in 2023 and that produce made a good dent in that investment when selling for $625,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale.A daughter of Compelling (Ire) (Kingmambo), Ivyetsu is a half-sister to G3 Prix Daphnis winner Last Kingdom (Frankel {GB}) and to the dam of the globetrotting Dubai Honour (GB) (Pride of Dubai {Aus}), winner on his travels of the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick Racecourse and the G1 Grand Prix de Saint Cloud.
