The finest sophomore sprinter in the land–'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard' Englishman (Maxfield)–may have been absent from Saturday's GII Gallant Bob Stakes at Parx, but that gave Stradale (c, 3, Yaupon–Twitterpated, by Stormy Atlantic) a chance to strutt his stuff. The $1.3-million OBS Spring purchase raced just behind the trio of Tallmar (Yaupon), Mailata (Maximus Mischief), and My Boy Star (Bucchero) early as they jointly showed the way through :21.78 and :44.46 fractions. Stradale swung wide on the turn and couldn't be caught, finishing full of run as 'Rising Star' Dr. Kapur (McKinzie) closed late. California shipped Captivator (Charlatan) was third. Stradale got the six furlongs in 1:09.83.Stradale was last seen on turf, winning the Aug. 16 GIII Mahoney Stakes at Saratoga while sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs.
