Weddings don’t have to cost a lot. My parents married in my grandmother’s church and celebrated in the fellowship hall. For my parents’ 50th anniversary, I recreated the meal, which was provided by my mom’s family. Chicken, green beans, mash potatoes, and a variation of a pound cake. Not including wine, it cost me $100 for ingredients and my preparation was a bit fancier than what was at the wedding, although the guest list was significantly smaller.
