Helmet-mounted thermal monoculars have become a common tool for hunters and tactical users who need to keep their hands free while moving between vehicle, field, and target area. A compact unit that can shift from scanning a treeline to tracking movement at close range, without swapping devices, cuts down on the gear a user has to carry and manage in the dark. This is the niche the Nocpix MINI2 H25 is built for - let’s take a closer look at what it does and how. The MINI2 H25 is a thermal imaging monocular that mounts via a dovetail shoe, allowing it to be used handheld or attached to your helmet mount. It runs a 640x512, 12µm thermal sensor with a 60Hz refresh rate and a stated sensitivity of ≤15mK, paired with Nocpix's Reality+ image processing. Output is shown on a 0.6in AMOLED display at 1280x1024 resolution.In addition to the thermal channel, the unit has a separate digital night vision sensor (1/1.8 CMOS, 960x540 resolution) and a fusion mode that overlays the two. Users can shift between thermal, digital night vision, and fusion depending on the scenario. Although it’s not the same product, I would think that the outcome for the user would be similar to when we tried the InfiRay Clip 1 and Jerry C Clip-On Thermal Imagers. Storage is 32GB onboard, with video and image recording. Data can be pulled off via USB-C or transferred wirelessly through a companion app. The unit is powered by USB-C or an included external battery pack, with a maximum listed operating time of 4+ hours on the battery pack.
