At the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, PhonePe announced UPI 123Pay support for its app on feature phones, taking the SMS-based, internet-free payments stack pre-loaded on HMD, Nokia, Lava and itel handsets to 200 million-plus Indians still on basic phones.
