Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Housing Department to implement the ‘Housing for All’ programme on a saturation basis and ensure a safe and permanent house for every eligible family in the State by 2029.Reviewing the functioning of the Housing Department at his camp office on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu set a target of completing 5.52 lakh houses by March 2027. He directed officials to ground houses under various schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin and PM Janman, by next month.The Chief Minister directed that 1.5 lakh houses be constructed in urban areas. He asked officials to complete 2.05 lakh houses by December 2026 and another 2.74 lakh houses by March 2027, making them ready for housewarming.The officials informed Mr. Naidu that 18.72 lakh houses had been sanctioned under PMAY 1.0, PMAY 2.0 and PM Janman, of which 13.20 lakh had been completed. Under the Andhra Pradesh Housing Corporation, 11.31 lakh of the 16.11 lakh sanctioned houses had been completed, while AP TIDCO had completed 1.88 lakh of the 2.61 lakh sanctioned houses.Mr. Naidu directed officials to secure sanctions for 75,000 new houses by December 2027 and bring another 1.5 lakh houses into the pipeline by coordinating with the Union Ministries of Rural Development and Housing and Urban Affairs.The Chief Minister called for the integration of data from RTGS, Awaas Plus, Housing and Revenue departments to identify families without house sites and eliminate duplication. Preliminary beneficiary lists should be published at village and ward secretariats. Objections should be invited and resolved transparently before final lists are prepared, he said.He directed officials to reorganise unused land in existing layouts into two-or three-cent plots wherever required and map eligible beneficiaries to vacant sites. The construction works should be monitored continuously, he said.Mr. Naidu also directed officials to implement housing on a saturation basis in Kuppam constituency.Industrial townshipsThe Chief Minister asked the Housing Department to explore the construction of industrial townships in different parts of the State with the assistance of the Central government.
