Maltese student platform FreeHour has climbed to the number one spot on Malta’s App Store just days after launching a completely rebuilt version of its app.The new FreeHour expands significantly beyond the student timetable that originally made the platform popular, introducing a range of features designed around university and student life.Students can now see when their friends are free and find friends nearby on campus in real time, while also keeping track of exams, attendance and tasks from within the app.Other additions include a stipend countdown, home-screen widgets and a custom campus map aimed at helping university students find their lecture rooms.Starting next week, freshers will also be able to access a series of freebies and exclusive offers through the app to mark the beginning of the new academic year.“We rebuilt FreeHour from the ground up around how students actually live their day, not just their lecture schedule,” founder and CEO Zach Ciappara said. “Hitting #1 within days of launch tells us students were ready for it.”The revamped FreeHour is now available across iPhone, iPad and Mac through the App Store, as well as on Google Play.Have you tried the new FreeHour app yet?•
