Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said India is better placed economically despite global challenges, citing tax reforms aimed at reducing litigation and simplifying compliance. Speaking at ITRAF’s Bengaluru conference, she urged industry and tax professionals to propose quantified, evidence-based reforms beyond demands for concessions, and called for independent research to strengthen public policy.
