I’ve had to try to work my entire life around a child with extreme behavioral/mental health needs, due to an adoption agency lying to us. It’s hell on earth, and I feel for her. Most of the caregiving went to my wife (we’re both women). I had to work about 60 hrs a week to make up for what she couldn’t do due to our daughter’s extreme needs. I also Uber on the weekends. My wife’s small business was almost destroyed. She had to get a part time job while she builds it back up. We looked everywhere for help. There was none. Our daughter ran back to her bio family/abusers. We are picking up the pieces and getting back on our feet. We survived this as a 2 parent household with decent jobs. I cannot imagine trying to do it alone on a McDonald’s salary. I feel for her so much, and I hope she finds help.
