The full-brother (hip 313) to MGISW Locked (Gun Runner) was the second horse to breach the $3-million mark Tuesday, selling to AMO Racing for $3.1-million.In addition to Locked, the son of Luna Rosa is also a half-brother to SP Code (Tiz the Law) while his dam is a Malibu Moon half to MGISW Gabby's Golden Girl (Medaglia d'Oro) and MGSW Always a Princess (Leroidesanimaux {BRZ}).He was bred in Kentucky by Rosa Colasanti and consigned Tuesday by Eaton Sales.“We saw that horse this morning and Kia just loved him right from the get-go,” said Ben McElory. “Obviously, he's by a sensational sire in Gun Runner. The full-brother is at stud. With what we paid today, we better hope for the same result. The horse obviously made a ton of sense [on the price] and he's a beautiful physical. When you get up to those numbers, nobody can predict. He will go down to Ocala and get broke. Obviously, take our time with him. Kia will pick out a trainer for him, probably April or May next year.”The Gun Runner/Malibu Moon cross has been hugely successful, also producing this year's GI Kentucky Oaks winner Always a Runner and her full-sister Forever Carina, both 'TDN Rising Stars'.
