Veteran Maltese actor Joe Gatt has died at the age of 86, following a career spanning more than five decades across theatre, television, radio and music.Gatt became a familiar face to generations of Maltese audiences through productions including Simpatiċi, Il-Madonna taċ-Ċoqqa and Ipokriti, while also writing, singing and performing throughout his career.His talents extended beyond acting, with Gatt winning the Malta Song Festival in 1963. He also served his community as a councillor in Mosta.His granddaughter remembered him as her loving “Nannu Joe”, paying tribute to a man whose talent and personality touched the lives of many.Gatt is survived by his three children and nine grandchildren. His funeral will take place at Mosta Parish Church on 21st September at 7.30am.Lovin Malta extends its heartfelt condolences to Joe’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved him.•
