Get the suits pressed and the classic cars polished because The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is returning this September, and it’s all for a good cause.Taking place worldwide on Sunday 27th September, the annual motoring event brings together vintage cars, seriously dapper outfits and fundraising in support of men’s health.Founded in 2021, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive or DGD is now entering its sixth year, with local drives taking place across the world on the same day.But you can’t exactly turn up in any old car.To participate in this edition, drivers generally need a classic car that is at least 40 years old, meaning vehicles should have been built before 31st December 1986. Some exceptions apply for identical run-on models and period-correct recreations.Drivers and their passengers are then encouraged to dress to impress, turning the event into a rolling celebration of classic motoring and timeless style. However, behind the sharp suits and beautiful cars is a much more important mission.DGD’s official charity partner is Movember, with money raised going towards research and programmes focusing on prostate cancer and men’s mental health. The event aims to use people’s shared passion for classic cars as a way of encouraging conversations around issues that men can sometimes struggle to speak about. And despite the name, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive isn’t just for gentlemen.People of all genders are welcome to participate, either as drivers or passengers, while supporting the men in their lives.Participants can register online, create their own fundraising profile and encourage friends, family and their wider community to donate. Those who hit certain fundraising milestones can also pick up rewards, with this years edition supported by global partners including BRETT Eyewear, Quad Lock and Heel Tread. So if you’ve got a pre-1987 classic sitting in the garage, this might be the perfect excuse to give it a polish, put on your finest outfit and take it out for a drive. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive takes place worldwide on Sunday 27th September.Share with a distinguished gentleman in your life!•
