Into Mischief was the leading sire of Keeneland September yearlings by average as the first of two Book 2 sessions neared its conclusion Wednesday afternoon, and he deepened his advantage in that particular statistical category when the Stonehaven Steadings-bred and -consigned hip 697 was hammered down to Legion Bloodstock for an even $2 million.“He was the star of the show,” said Legion Bloodstock's Kristian Villante. “Travis [Durr] was the first one to get to see him and he fell in love with him. He brought the whole team over to see him and everyone fell in love. You never expect to pay $2 million for a horse, but we knew we would have to dig deep for him.“It's a developing partnership. There are three people right now who all want different pieces, but we will figure it out. Thankfully, we had enough clients to tell us to push that far.”A May 11 foal, the bay is the first foal out of Miss Costa Rica (Hit It a Bomb), third in the GII Chandelier Stakes in 2020 and herself a daughter of SW & GSP Five Star Daydream (Five Star Day).
