Koha is an offering in Maori culture. It's a gift to a host, for thanks or lots of reasons but my understanding is that it's not money payment or of value. It's an effort / care / respect thing. People shouldn't use koha to mean payment even if the koha is eg $10 to help cover hiring a community hall
