Development on the One UI 9.5 update for Samsung's latest foldables has officially begun. The first internal One UI 9.5 firmware builds have been spotted for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 on Samsung's servers.Obviously, One UI 9.5 itself didn't just enter development. Samsung has been testing One UI 9.5 for the Galaxy S26 series for a while. And while the new foldables were the first to ship with the stable version of One UI 9.0, the S26 series will almost certainly be first in line to receive the One UI 9.5 upgrade next year.We even got an early look at One UI 9.5 on the Galaxy S26 back in August. However, there were very few noticeable changes at the time, which wasn't surprising, as the official debut of One UI 9.5 is still a few months away. One UI 9.5 beta program could go live before the end of the yearSamsung could launch the One UI 9.5 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy Z8 foldables, and other devices later this year or early next year. This will give users with eligible devices the chance to take it for a spin before One UI 9.5 officially debuts on the Galaxy S27 series in 2027.One UI 9.5 will not bring a new version of Android to the Galaxy Z8 series. But it will still likely be the lineup's first major feature update. Starting with One UI 8.0 (Android 16), Samsung changed its approach: the x.0 releases introduce a new Android version, while the x.5 releases bring more substantial changes and new features. Seeing how One UI 9.0 turned out, Samsung is likely sticking with that approach.
