GI Alabama Stakes heroine My Gun's Loaded (Gun Runner) will be off for the rest of the year after being diagnosed with an unspecified injury, according to a report by DRF's David Grening.In speaking to Grening, trainer Chad Brown said it wasn't anything that required surgery, but would need time, saying, “Unfortunately, we had to stop on her. She's probably done for the year because of the timing of it. We had to back off her, no surgeries, just wasn't quite right out of the last race [the Alabama].”“She ran three really fast races [maiden breaking win June 6, allowance win July 24, and Alabama Aug. 22],” Brown told Grening. “[My Gun's Loaded] finally felt it a little bit.”Brown went on to say that My Gun's Loaded would be given time off and pointed to a 4-year-old season.The daughter of Gun Runner was a $650,000 Keeneland September purchase by Douglas Scharbauer, and was transferred to Brown from the barn of Steve Asmussen after an eighth-place finish last December against Oaklawn Park maiden special weight company.
