Oleksandr Usyk holds new talks with Zuffa Boxing over Deontay Wilder final fight

Oleksandr Usyk is now back in direct talks with Zuffa Boxing and is keen on facing Deontay Wilder in his final fight.Usyk decided to vacate all of his WBA, IBF and WBC heavyweight titles after edging past Rico Verhoeven.Usyk and Wilder look to be edging closer to a heavyweight clash, with talks reopenedThe Ukrainian wasn’t interested in a showdown with Agit Kabayel, and wants to free up the division and have one final bow before retiring from the sport.Naturally, Usyk wants a big commercial draw to step in the ring with, to try and earn a lucrative payday.It is understood he is also keen on fighting on US shores, with Jon Jones and Wilder seen as the two primary options.The former undisputed champion previously held talks with Wilder, but they broke down and the ‘Bronze Bomber’ ended up facing and beating Derek Chisora instead.But Usyk’s team director Sergey Lapin has suggested that they have re-entered negotiations with Dana White and Turki Alalshikh backed Zuffa Boxing.“We are in direct discussions with Zuffa Boxing at the highest level.
