Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will launch the first tunnel boring operation for India's inaugural bullet train project on Sunday. Two massive German-made tunnel boring machines, imported from China, will construct a 20.37-km tunnel, including a 7-km undersea stretch, for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. This marks a significant milestone for the ambitious project.
