The program will feature Union Health Minister and former BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda as the chief speaker. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, BJP State President Dr. Archana Gupta, and several other prominent leaders from the state will also attend.Vij was addressing a large gathering of BJP workers at the BPS Planetarium in Ambala Cantonment while reviewing preparations for the program.He said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was the founder of the party’s ideological organization and had visited Ambala Cantonment. He founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later became the Janata Party, and subsequently evolved into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).Anil Vij further said that the Central Government has chosen Ambala Cantonment as a major centre for this campaign because Dr. Mookerjee had halted there during his journey from Delhi to Kashmir. He addressed a public meeting in Ambala Cantonment before proceeding to Kashmir. Therefore, it has been decided to commemorate his birth anniversary on a grand scale there. The state-level program will begin at 9:00 AM, and he appealed to party workers to participate in large numbers. Following Partition, Article 370 accorded Jammu and Kashmir a special constitutional status, which Dr. Mookerjee strongly opposed. It was he who gave the slogan: “ek desh mein do pradhan, do vidhan, do nishan nahin rahenge.”Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Halted in Ambala Cantonment During His Kashmir Journey: VijVij recalled that at the time, anyone wishing to enter Kashmir had to obtain a permit from the Jammu and Kashmir government. However, Dr. Mookerjee declared that he would travel without a permit because Kashmir was an integral part of India. He began his journey from Delhi by train and stopped at Ambala Cantonment, which had long been regarded as a city of nationalists. There, he addressed a public gathering at the Grain Market (Anaj Mandi) and also visited the homes of some party workers. He arrived in Ambala on May 8, departed for Punjab the following day, and on May 11 was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir government and imprisoned. According to Vij, Dr. Mookerjee later passed away under mysterious circumstances.Grand Celebration to Be Held in Ambala Cantonment: Anil VijWhile speaking to media persons, Anil Vij said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s birth anniversary would be celebrated with great enthusiasm in Ambala Cantonment on July 6, and a large number of party workers had gathered today to prepare for the program.He reiterated that Dr. Mookerjee had opposed the separate constitutional status granted to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370, arguing that *ek desh mein do pradhan, do vidhan, do nishan nahin rahenge*. In protest, Dr. Mookerjee decided to travel to Kashmir without obtaining the mandatory permit. During that journey, he spent a day in Ambala Cantonment and addressed a public meeting there.Therefore, a major commemorative program will be organized in Ambala Cantonment, where Union Health Minister and former BJP National President J.P. Nadda will address the gathering.
