Gozo Channel has announced a major leadership shake-up, with Ronald Sultana appointed as its new CEO and Marlene Cini becoming the company’s first-ever female Chairperson.The Ministry for Gozo said the roles of Chairperson and CEO have now been separated, with the CEO position becoming a full-time role focused on the company’s day-to-day operations and long-term transformation.The appointments come as Gozo Channel prepares for significant investment aimed at modernising its fleet, upgrading the Mġarr Harbour infrastructure and improving digital services, including ticketing and customer experience platforms.Sultana has served as Director responsible for Tourism and Economic Development within the Ministry for Gozo since 2019, overseeing a period of growth in tourism and investment across the island.Meanwhile, Cini brings extensive experience in public administration, corporate governance and legal affairs, having previously served as Board Secretary of Gozo Channel and held several senior governance roles.The Ministry also thanked former Chairman Joe Cordina for his service and contribution to the company over the past years.•
