My uncle was like that. My Dad helped him get a new car after his old one died. Uncle was overwhelmed, so my Dad did most of the work getting him a nice, reliable, car within a tight budget. My Uncle then showed off pictures of it on Facebook while thanking only Jesus for getting him the car. We didn't talk much after that.
