Nine people were killed and 20 others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast at a cafe in central Damascus on Thursday, the Syrian Ministry of Interior has updated.A preliminary investigation into the incident indicates that the device contained approximately one kilogram of explosives and was packed with numerous metal fragments intended to maximize casualties.
