Hoax bomb threat to ISRO: Man traced to Uttar Pradesh, arrested - The HinduPublished - July 03, 2026 07:38 pm IST - BengaluruThe police have arrested a 36-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh in connection with the hoax bomb threat email sent to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Antariksh Bhavan, located on New BEL Road in the northern part of the city, on Thursday.The accused in the first case has been identified as Nishanth Tyagi, an unemployed man whom the Bengaluru City Police claimed is “mentally ill”. The arrest followed a complaint filed by an administrative officer of the ISRO headquarters after the threat was declared a hoax.Following the complaint, the police formed a special team, which conducted a technical investigation and traced the accused to Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.“We seized an electronic device from the accused, and its examination confirmed that the email was sent by him,” the police said in a statement.Second emailMeanwhile, another bomb threat email was sent to the same establishment on Friday. However, the second email was sent by a different individual.A senior police officer from the North Division confirmed to The Hindu that another email was sent on Friday.“We conducted another thorough search, and the threat was declared a hoax.
