Alasdair Gold has now shed light on whether a transfer away from Tottenham is likely for Lucas Bergvall this summer. Most Spurs fans will be aware of the ongoing reports suggesting that Bergvall has informed Tottenham that he wants to leave in search of a fresh challenge elsewhere. The midfielder’s decision comes on the back of Spurs breaking their transfer record twice in two days to land Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, which has potentially left the 18-year-old unsure about his prospects of game time. The youngster started just one of the seven league matches overseen by De Zerbi towards the end of last season, which may have added to his fears about warming the bench next season.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramAlasdair Gold says Tottenham will not sell Lucas BergvallA couple of days ago, The Telegraph reported that Spurs had informed Bergvall’s suitors that the midfielder is not for sale this summer. This has now been backed up by Alasdair Gold, who revealed that the Lilywhites are not planning to offload the midfielder and have not received any formal offers so far.The journalist said on his YouTube channel: “In other positive news, I guess it is positive news, depending on your point of view. From what I understand, Lucas Bergvall is not for sale, and I know Spurs have not received any formal bids for him as of yet.“Apparently, De Zerbi and Lange – this is the bit I haven’t been able to confirm, but I’m presuming it is true – De Zerbi and Lange have reached out to him at the World Cup to explain that he is part of their plans.”Is the ‘not for sale’ stance a ploy by Spurs to maximise Bergvall’s value?Several outlets have revealed over the past few weeks that Nottingham Forest have expressed a firm interest in Bergvall.Additionally, it has been suggested that AC Milan have made the Spurs man their top midfield target. These clubs would not be actively exploring a deal unless they received some encouragement from the youngster’s camp.Tottenham may be simply adopting a hardline stance on Bergvall in order to maximise the fee they get for him. We may see the Lilywhites soften their stance in the latter stages of the window.READ MORE: Shirt numbers Sandro Tonali could wear at Tottenham after Conor Gallagher took the 8The post ‘From what I understand’ – Big Tottenham decision may frustrate Lucas Bergvall after De Zerbi talks appeared first on Spurs Web.
