Tottenham Hotspur and Said El Mala’s other suitors have just been served a warning about spending big on the Cologne star this summer. The 19-year-old has won many admirers with his enterprising displays in the Bundesliga over the last 12 months, and he is now being linked with a move to the Premier League.El Mala was first linked with Tottenham during the January window, and over the last few weeks, several sources have said that Spurs could reignite their interest in the German teenager. As the interest builds in the Cologne star’s services, a reputable German journalist has now advised caution to the interested clubs.Photo by Lars Baron/Getty ImagesTottenham target Said El Mala deemed not ready for a club like LiverpoolOver recent days, it has emerged that Liverpool could turn their attention to El Mala after being frustrated in their efforts to land Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. However, Bild journalist Christian Falk has now insisted that, unlike Diomande, the Cologne starlet is not a finished product yet and is not ready for a stage like Anfield.Falk said on CF Bayern Insider: “There is always Premier League interest in Said El Mala. I think Liverpool is a step too high for this player at this stage in his development.“He has quality, but this isn’t so big that you can compare him at the moment with Yan Diomande. I think he will make the step to the Premier League – a league he’s a big fan of – but if it’s Liverpool, I have doubts.”Several other Premier League clubs also want El MalaFalk’s warning may be relevant to Tottenham Hotspur as their transfer business this summer indicates that they intend to compete with the likes of Liverpool at the top end of the Premier League table next season. It was reported by TEAMtalk a couple of weeks ago that Spurs and the Reds are not the only ones interested in the Cologne attacker, with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United also eyeing a move for El Mala. The outlet claimed that it would take an offer of around €40m (£34.5m) to prise the 19-year-old away from the Rhein Energie Stadion.READ MORE: How much Tottenham can still spend this summer without breaking financial regulationsThe post Tottenham and Liverpool sent warning about spending £35m on Bundesliga star appeared first on Spurs Web.
