Kyambogo University has admitted a total of 19,399 students under the Direct Entry Scheme (Private Sponsorship) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, according to the Provisional Admission List released by the Office of the Academic Registrar. The list, signed off by Academic Registrar Dr. Annie Begumisa, spans a massive 851 pages and covers admissions into 159 programme streams across roughly 90 courses, offered on both the Day and Evening study tracks. Here are the key figures you should not miss from this year’s list.Women outnumber men on the listOf the 19,399 admitted students, 10,752 are female and 8,647 are male. That puts female admissions at about 55 percent of the total intake, meaning more women than men have secured private sponsorship slots at Kyambogo this cycle.Bachelor of Arts with Education takes the largest shareThe Bachelor of Arts with Education programme leads the pack by a wide margin. The Day track (AED) alone admitted 1,201 students, with the Evening track (AEE) adding another 812. Combined, that is over 2,000 students admitted into one programme, making it the single biggest destination on this year’s list.Other heavily subscribed programmes include the Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (Day and Evening combined, over 1,000 students), Bachelor of Business Administration (close to 1,000 across both tracks), and the Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management.Wakiso leads the districtsWakiso district produced the highest number of admitted applicants at 1,810, ahead of Kampala with 1,014 and Mukono with 827. Masaka, Tororo, Mbarara and Ntungamo also feature prominently among the top ten districts of origin, reflecting Kyambogo’s strong pull from the greater Kampala metropolitan area and western Uganda.63 international students admittedThe list also includes 63 applicants classified as Non-Ugandan, confirming that Kyambogo’s Direct Entry intake this year is not exclusively local, with a number of foreign applicants securing private sponsorship admission.Top score of the intakeThe highest weighted score recorded on the entire list is 54.5, attained by an applicant admitted to the Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (Day). Weighted scores across the list range widely, with the lowest qualifying scores dropping to below 8 points in some programmes, underlining how competitive cut-off points vary significantly from one course to another. What admitted students should do nextThis is a provisional list, and the University has urged all applicants to treat it as such. Admitted students are advised to keep checking the official Kyambogo University website for updates, follow the registration and enrolment guidelines that will be communicated by the Academic Registrar’s office, and note that additional admission lists may still be released for applicants who do not appear on this one.Congratulations to all the successful applicants joining Kyambogo University for the 2026/2027 academic year.Below is the full list;Direct-Entry-Scheme-for-Private-Sponsorship-Provisional-Admission-List-Academic-Year-20262027DownloadThe post FULL LIST!
