Chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO and built around a short-stroke piston architecture, the design distills lessons learned by others and mimics similar systems already in use. In case you don’t remember, SSS Defence is competing in the UK Ministry of Defence’s Project Grayburn program, which we’re watching with interest. The M72 comes with fully ambidextrous controls, Picatinny and M-LOK rail coverage, and a field-swappable trigger. Engineered in Bharat (that’s India, in other words), and positioned to compete globally against established NATO-caliber designs.Three barrel lengths exist: 12.5, 13.5, and 14.5 inches. From the data sheet: The 12.5” version is 715mm long and weighs 2.8kg.
