A large international genetics study has identified thousands of genetic variants linked to personality differences. These genetic influences are spread across many tiny effects, not controlled by single genes. The research focused on the widely used Big Five personality model, which describes broad behavioral tendencies. Within-family analyses showed minimal influence from shared family environments on these genetic associations.
