Rain returns to Hyderabad after weeks of dry weather, catches commuters off guard - The HinduUpdated - September 06, 2026 09:43 pm IST - HYDERABADCommuters take shelter under a flyover after rains lash Hyderabad on Sunday. | Photo Credit: RAMAKRISHNA GHyderabad witnessed a sudden spell of rain on Sunday (September 6) after weeks of dry weather, with many parts of the city turning cloudy and receiving showers during the afternoon.The weather remained bright and sunny through the first half of the day before dark conditions prevailed across some parts of the city after 3 p.m. Areas, including Uppal, Habsiguda, Tarnaka and Mettuguda, witnessed showers, catching commuters off guard.No major traffic disruptions were reported as it was a Sunday. While several parts of the city received rain, many other areas remained dry.According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) as of 7 p.m., Miyapur recorded 25 mm rainfall followed by 16 mm in Malakpet, 15.8 mm in Kavadiguda, 15.5 mm in Uppal, 15.3 mm in Moosarambagh, 14.8 mm in Amberpet, 12.5 mm in Khairatabad, 12.3 mm in Chilkalguda and 12 mm in Kukatpally.Meanwhile, many districts saw moderate rain.
