One of Bro Edward Galea’s final interviews is being remembered following his death yesterday at the remarkable age of 102, offering a touching glimpse into the faith and daily routine that remained with him even at 100 years old.The beloved De La Salle Brother dedicated his life to education, faith and service, leaving his mark on generations of students and educators.And in the interview, conducted by Fabian Demicoli when Bro Edward was 100, he revealed that despite reaching a century of life, he was still turning up at school at around 8am in the morning.“By the grace of God, I feel well,” Bro Edward said when asked how he was doing at 100.“I have a few pills that I have to take, but apart from that, I still go to school.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Bro Edward explained that he would lead prayers for the children when possible and would even spend time with Year 5 and Year 6 students explaining the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday.But when asked about his secret, his answer had little to do with diet, exercise or any conventional recipe for longevity.“My secret is… let me tell you what I do when I wake up,” he said.“When I wake up, the first thing I do is thank Baby Jesus for giving me a good night, and Our Lady too.”“We mustn’t forget her,” he continued. “Because if we have Jesus, who gave Him to us? Our Lady gave Him to us.
