Three cyclists have officially set off on an ambitious 1,800km journey from Turin to Malta, all in aid of Hospice Malta and Friends of Don Bosco Malta.David Gauci, Roderick “Rokku” Spiteri and Joaquin Rodriguez began the T2M Cycling Challenge from Valdocco, Turin, at 4am on Sunday, accompanied by their support team. Over the next seven days, the trio will make their way through Italy towards Malta, taking on an impressive 250 to 300 kilometres of cycling every single day. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Ahead of their departure, the team visited the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco, a place closely connected to St John Bosco and the beginnings of his mission supporting young people.The challenge is being organised by David Gauci, Treasurer of Friends of Don Bosco Malta, an organisation forming part of the worldwide movement of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco.Another meaningful stop along their journey will be Rimini, where the cyclists will visit the Salesian community connected to Blessed Alberto Marvelli.Marvelli, himself a passionate cyclist, famously used his bicycle during the Second World War to deliver food, clothing and assistance to people in need.Now, the T2M team is calling on the public to get behind their mammoth journey, with all proceeds raised going towards Hospice Malta and Friends of Don Bosco Malta.Donations can be made via Revolut on +356 9929 6552.Seven days, 1,800 kilometres and one incredible cause.
