With the summer transfer window now slammed shut, we have put together what we believe is Tottenham’s best XI – including the bench – for when everyone is fully fit.Tottenham Hotspur no longer have to deal with the distractions that come with the transfer window, with the summer market now shut in England.Luckily for Spurs, they were able to land most of their key targets, with ten signings coming through the door and bolstering Roberto De Zerbi’s squad. Twelve other players departed north London in what was a summer of major overhaul in north London. With every piece of business now done and the squad settled, we have now put together what we think is Spurs’ best possible XI and bench when everyone is fit.Credit: @thatfootballphotog / InstagramTottenham best XI and bench when everyone is fitGoalkeeper – Antonin Kinsky: There is no denying that the Czech international is currently the best goalkeeper at Tottenham. He offers so much that the other shot-stoppers do not, especially with the ball at his feet, which suits De Zerbi’s system. When everyone is fit, the young goalkeeper takes his place between the sticks.Right-back – Pedro Porro: There is a case to be made that the World Cup winner is amongst the top five right-backs in the world at the moment. His display at the World Cup shows that if he is put in the right system, he can thrive. Below him in the pecking order is Archie Gray, who is not a natural right-back.Centre-back – Jan Paul van Hecke: The Dutchman has come into the team to replace the departed Cristian Romero. While he is yet to keep a clean sheet and has conceded five goals this season, van Hecke’s quality is clear to see. Only a few in the Tottenham squad are comfortable with the ball at their feet and capable of playing line-breaking passes from deep. He is also aggressive in his defending, often pushing up the field to help press, and has shown he can defend wide spaces.Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: The van Hecke–van de Ven defensive partnership is something De Zerbi certainly envisioned this summer. While van Hecke possesses the ability to play progressive passes from deep, van de Ven brings a quality no other defender possesses: his pace. He is the captain of the squad, and there is no denying he makes the best Tottenham XI this season.Left-back – Destiny Udogie: The Italian’s injury troubles are sure to limit the number of games he can play in a single season. However, when fit, he goes straight in at left-back, featuring over new addition Andy Robertson. Udogie offers so much more tactically, given his ability to invert and hold width.Defensive midfielder – Sandro Tonali: A £100 million (€117m) man coming in as Spurs’ record signing, Tonali is certainly Tottenham’s best option to anchor the midfield. His best quality comes when Tottenham retain the ball, and he is allowed to dictate play. He is also capable of covering ground and doing the dirty work in midfield. He has not yet found his best level, but should he reach that, he will be a top midfielder for the Lilywhites.Centre-midfielder – Mateus Fernandes: The young midfielder is one with tremendous talent, and Tottenham fans have already seen glimpses of that in the games he has played this season. In the opener against Brentford, Fernandes showed what he can offer when he came on and played a few direct passes linking midfield and attack brilliantly. He has a tremendous footballing IQ given his ability to feature anywhere in midfield. We expect him to feature regularly in the number eight spot when everything is settled.Attacking midfielder – James Maddison: Tottenham need creativity in the middle of the park, and based on the players available, Maddison best offers that. The Englishman has struggled to stay fit, but should he be at 100 per cent, he is Spurs’ best pick for that role.Right winger – Savio: The 22-year-old is certainly a talented wide forward, and he did not waste any time showing that talent when he came off the bench in his debut game against Charlton Athletic. His ability in one-v-one situations is one of the best in the league and in the Tottenham squad. The biggest question mark is whether he can add goals to his game. Regardless, with Spurs splashing £85 million (€100m) to get him to north London, he makes their best XI.Striker – Omar Marmoush: The on-loan star is certainly a different mould to what Tottenham have up front. Compared to Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, Marmoush is comfortable dropping deep, drifting out wide and allowing for a more fluid style of play, one that De Zerbi loves. His profile suits the manager’s system and there is no doubt he will be the go-to man up top.Left winger – Mohammed Kudus: While Kudus has been deployed off the right for most of his Tottenham career, the wide forward is very capable of playing on the left. He is extremely versatile and that gives him an edge over someone like Mathys Tel. Savio and Kudus can easily swap sides in games, giving De Zerbi some tactical flexibility. That sort of quality gives him a spot in Spurs’ best XI.But who makes the bench? Here are our picks: Bench: Dubravka, Gray, Senesi, Robertson, Bergvall, Bentancur, Solanke, Mudryk, KulusevskiREAD MORE: Liverpool thought Tottenham star was good enough to replace their World Cup winnerThe post Tottenham’s best possible XI and bench when everyone is fit, including Kulusevski and Mudryk appeared first on Spurs Web.
