Blood samples from relatives of missing persons in Nepal floods collected - The HinduPublished - September 05, 2026 06:48 pm IST - THANJAVURA total of 23 persons — relatives of persons who went missing in the Nepal floods — presented blood samples at Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital on Saturday for conducting DNA tests.According to official sources, the exercise of collecting blood samples from the relatives of those persons who had undertaken the tour to Nepal from Thanjavur and neighbouring districts and had not yet been found in the recent flood, was primarily to ascertain the DNA so as to compare the same with the bodies recovered by the Nepal administration.While a total of 16 persons from Thanjavur district undertaking the Nepal tour organised by the Kumbakonam-based travel agency, others hailed from neighbouring districts and as well as from the northern districts of Tamil Nadu. The blood sample collection would continue for a few more days, according to official sources.Meanwhile, Collector R.
