I (17F) have thick, dense hair everywhere on my head besides my temples and hairline, where the hair is extremely thin and recessed into my temples. My right side has less hair than my left side due to the whorl of my hair and the left side has some bald spots from skin picking, which just makes it look even sloppier. (I did bloodwork and all of my levels are normal, so I don't think that's the issue. It's really just been this way since I was a baby.) I haven't gone to a dermatologist yet, but after researching a bit about female hairline treatments I've seen that some people get hair transplanted into the affected area, and some of the results look really good. It seems like all of the people getting it seem to be at least in their mid-late 20's, and that it's far less common than males. This is all just wishful thinking for me right now, but theoretically if it's just a one-and-done procedure and you don't have to consider active hair loss, does it matter what age you get it? Could you theoretically get it in your late teens/early 20's? I know I shouldn't jump right into thinking about surgery before considering topical/oral solutions so this is purely theoretical in case they don't work on me. The idea of having one singular procedure (+ recovery period) that will last forever as opposed to having to work at it daily for a long period of time/forever is very enticing, though, especially because it's just this one section of my scalp. I'm just sick of being insecure of my hairline and having to do wild tricks to cover it up. I'm a violinist and have to be on stage constantly with my hair pulled back (I don't do it too tightly) and hate that my hairline is so uneven and weird looking and I know my forehead proportions would look so much better if I could just insert some extra hair there, too.
