Carson Beck is getting ready for his first NFL start. The Arizona Cardinals quarterback is set to make his pro debut in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. Beck is going to get his first taste of action as a pro in the Hall of Fame Game on ThursdayGettyThis comes despite the third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft being considered the third-string quarterback on the roster behind veterans Jacoby Brissett – who just reached an agreement over a re-worked contract – and Gardner Minshew II. Upon the announcement of Beck being named the starter for the Hall of Fame Game, his sister – former Georgia Bulldogs and now Miami Dolphins cheerleader Kylie – took to social media to congratulate him. “let’s gooooo,” she posted to her Instagram story on Tuesday. Beck is hoping that he can impress the Cardinals coaches enough that he could rival, and perhaps surpass, Minshew as Brissett’s back-up. He enters the NFL having gotten six years of collegiate experience under his belt, in which he spent five years at Georgia, where he won two National Championships. The 24-year-old spent his final season at Miami (FL), where he had completed a career-high 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. As the 10th seed in the college football playoff, he spearheaded the Hurricanes all the way to the National Championship Game again. They would, however, fall to the No. 1 seed and undefeated Indiana Hoosiers with No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Fernando Mendoza leading the charge. Beck, LaFleur excited for HOF GameBeck recently sat down with Cardinals reporter Darren Urban, where he opened up on how he felt when he was told he would be taking to the field under center on Thursday. “I had no clue I was going to start,” Beck said after Tuesday’s practice. “I thought I was going to play but I had no expectations.Carson Beck’s sister Kylie took to social media after the Cardinals QB was named the starter for the HOF GameInstagram/ @kyliebeck_New Cardinals HC Mike LaFleur is excited for his team to take to the field for the first timeGetty“Obviously our schedule has been crazy right now. But I’m looking forward to it.”Having developed a plethora of experience, this is just another game for Beck, with him revealing that he has no nerves going into his debut. “It’s a game at the end of the day. Not really any nerves. More excitement than anything.”But Beck isn’t the only one excited for game action to get underway, with head coach Mike LaFleur keen to see how some of his players fare out on the field. “It’ll be cool to see just a lot of these guys’ demeanors, if you will, when it’s real, when the bullets are live,” LaFleur said. “Just because it’s preseason and the win/loss doesn’t count, it doesn’t mean that this isn’t real football. Guys are fighting their butts off to make teams, to put good product out there, to put good tape out there, and compete. “Whether it’s the ping pong table or whatever, in that three and a half hour window, Carolina’s going to want to win a game just like we are. “It doesn’t count after the fact, but in that moment, I don’t care what you’re doing. If you’re a competitor, you care.”
