Thirty years ago I had three companies knock on my door and want to partner with MCSNet to deliver Internet service to consumers and small businesses. All three had a compelling story. All three had major Wall Street backing and either were public or soon to be. All three had competing but similar products in the same part of the stack that we, and every other ISP, used.I listened to their pitches, dug into the financials of what they were doing, and upon finding the same thing in each of them declined to get involved with any of them, declaring that they were all destined to blow up.All three of them did.There was no particular problem with the thing they claimed to be able to deliver.
