Computers slowed business, customers disappeared, but Srinivasan, Madurai's last pen doctor, still returns twice a day to his spot beside Naveen Bakery near the east gate of Meenakshi Amman Temple. He has repaired pens there for 55 years, carrying forward a trade his father started before him.
