Win A Copy Of New Book The Star Trek Archive

Wait 5 sec.

Star Trek marks its 60th anniversary on 6 September, and a new book explores the franchise’s history from an interesting perspective. A riff on the popular “let’s condense a subject into 100 things” subgenre, Ben Robinson’s The Star Trek Archive tackles items such as Gene Roddenberry’s original pitch document for the series, Kirk’s command chair, Mego’s ‘70s action figures, Geordi LaForge’s visor, and Seven of Nine’s shiny silver jumpsuit, using these iconic props and ephemera as jumping-off points for discussion. (The salamanders from infamously duff Voyager episode “Threshold” get a look-in too!) Significant behind-the-scenes figures from the world of Trek, like designer Michael Okuda and writer/showrunner Brannon Braga, also pop up to talk about their favourite items. Crammed with trivia, anecdotes from cast and crew, behind-the-scenes photographs, and concept art, it’s a fun read. The Star Trek Archive: 100 Objects And Stories From The Final Frontier is out on 17 August (RRP £39.99), but thanks to Titan Books we have five copies to give away.
