Mikel Arteta insists Arsenal are “optimistic” about their transfer window despite suffering a setback in their pursuit of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior. The Gunners have been linked with an ambitious £128 million for the Brazilian forward this summer. Real have reportedly held positive talks with Vini Jr over a new deal. His current contract has just 12 months left to run, but it is looking increasingly likely that he will remain at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The north London outfit have already signed Piero Hincapie, Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis, and are set to complete a £75 million transfer for Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, giving Arteta the belief they can “attack every possible title” next season.
