I do mobile detailing on weekends out of my truck. Small operation, just me. Packages are listed on my facebook page with pricing. Basic exterior wash + interior vacuum/wipedown is $80, full detail with clay bar, wheel deep clean, engine bay etc is $200. This dude books the $80 through messenger. I show up Saturday morning, do the wash, vacuum the interior, wipe everything down. Took about an hour and a half. I'm packing my stuff up and he comes outside like "oh the wheels look the same though." I told him the basic includes a rinse on the wheels during the wash but not the deep clean with tire shine and everything. He goes "can you just hit them real quick." I did the wheels because I'm dumb and I didn't want a bad review. Took like 15 extra minutes. Then immediately he goes "what about the engine bay." I said that's part of the full detail package, different service, and I have another car at 1. He said "it takes like 5 minutes though right." No it does not take 5 minutes. 20-30 minutes minimum and you gotta be careful around electrical components or you're gonna cause problems. Then the classic. "My buddy does everything for 60 bucks." Cool go book with your buddy then?? He pays the 80 and I leave. Check my google page that night and this man left me 3 stars saying "Good work but very nickel and dime about services. Booked a detail and they wouldn't even do the wheels without upcharging. Other places include this stuff." You booked a wash. It's right there in the messenger thread.
