If you have no income, you’re unmarried, and over the age of 23 or 24 you’re likely to receive a full Pell Grant and she probably took out loans for the remainder and the loans are deferred while in school and deferred for up to six months after you leave school or graduate. You can also get a special loan waiver while unemployed I believe. She’s likely doing that unless she has a scholarship or her parents pay for that. If this entire situation were true, I don’t think her parents would allow her to be in this situation for this long. But let’s be for real, she’s likely in her late twenties or somewhere in her thirties because she claims to have been dating the abusive man for 10 years or so—that’s if this story isn’t just a burning pile of horse shit 💩 that is, which I* *personally think it is, or it’s highly manufactured, misleading, and exaggerated at best. Since she’s probably in her late 20’-30’s she’s probably using student loans and the Pell Grant rather than having a scholarship or getting help from parents. There are very few, if any full-ride scholarships for older adult students and parents who are willing to pay for their child’s higher education usually pay for it as soon as they finish highschool, especially considering that being an educated woman is a huge deterrent for abusive men. I wonder if she’s even factored in those loan payments?
