I built Folloverse, a creator platform with memberships, paid posts, a shop and community chat in one page

Hi, This is Folloverse (folloverse.com), a home page for creators where they can: - Run memberships with tiers - Sell paid posts that fans unlock one at a time - Sell digital products like files, presets and guides - Chat with fans in community channels, including members-only ones - Bill fans when they publish instead of every month, if they want - Customise the page so it looks like them, not like a template Flat 6% fee, 0% for the first 3 months. Built mostly solo. The story, and why I'm posting: If you don't know it, Patreon is the biggest membership platform for creators. Artists, podcasters, YouTubers and writers use it to get paid directly by their fans, usually a few dollars a month in exchange for exclusive posts, early access or extras. It's the main player in this space, and it's the platform I'm competing with. Patreon takes 10% on new accounts. Patreon used to offer two ways to charge fans: - monthly, a fixed amount every month - per creation, where fans are charged each time the creator publishes something, with a monthly cap The second one suits creators who publish irregularly, like a comic artist who releases a chapter when it's ready rather than on a schedule. Then Patreon announced it was dropping per-creation billing and moving everyone to monthly. I saw that as my opening. I thought the creators who relied on it would move to a platform that kept it. They didn't. Most switched to monthly and moved on. For a creator with an existing audience, switching platforms means asking every fan to re-subscribe somewhere else and losing some along the way. One billing feature doesn't outweigh I launched 6 months ago. Today I have zero active creators. So my questions: - How did you decide whether to keep going, pivot, or stop? - Is going after new creators (no audience to migrate) a better angle than trying to win people away from Patreon? - What would you test in the next 30 days before deciding? Blunt feedback on the product or the landing page is welcome too. Thanks. submitted by /u/Zealos707 [link] [comments]
