Kilwin (Twirling Candy–Spanish Star, by Blame) (hip 114), who overcame a terrible break to win the 2025 GI Test Stakes, made a second consecutive trip through the Keeneland sales pavilion Tuesday afternoon, hammering to Erdenheim Farm for $2.6 million. The 4-year-old filly was consigned by Royal Oak Farm on behalf of BBN Racing and Rick Howard.A $225,000 graduate of this auction house's September Yearling Sale, the bay filly was winner of the 2024 Untapable Stakes on the grass, but proved equally adept on the main track, easily taking the Leslie's Lady Stakes in June 2025. Far back in the Test after stumbling badly at the start of the Test at Saratoga, she managed to overcome that adversity to score by a neck. After Howard signed for Kilwin at last year's November Sale for $3 million, Kilwin remained in training for a 4-year-old season, winning the Twin Bridges Stakes on seasonal debut in July ahead of a runner-up effort to champion-elect and $5-million Fasig-Tipton November topper Ways and Means (Practical Joke) in the GI Ballerina Stakes.Kilwin was a respectable fourth to Ways and Means in the GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint over the weekend.“Whether or not she has racing left in her is to be determined, I need to talk with [Erdenheim Farm Thoroughbreds Peter] McCausland who bought her, talk with Rusty Arnold who's been training her and make the plan there to see what we think makes sense,” said advisor Chris Baker. “Ultimately she's joining the broodmare band for Erdenheim Farm Thoroughbreds. And so it's really a 10- to 15-year project, but we have some immediate things to consider now.”A half-sister to the good turf sprinter One Timer (Trappe Shot), Kilwin is out of an unraced half-sister to GI Belmont Stakes hero Sir Winston (Awesome Again). The post Test Winner Kilwin Fetches $2.6M at Keeneland November appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
