Ways and Means (Practical Joke), the GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint Champion and $5 million Fasig-Tipton November sales topper, has returned to Chad Brown's barn at Payson Park, but her new owner, Randy Boyd, said her future is still unclear.Reached by phone on Wednesday evening, Boyd said, “She is heading back to Chad's place and we haven't gotten a chance to talk to Chad yet, so we're still determining what the future plan is, but that's it. But she can't obviously stay at the sales grounds, so she's going back home with Chad until we figure out what we're going to do.”Ways and Means was the most dominant winner over the two-day Breeders' Cup weekend, winning the Filly & Mare Sprint by 6 1/4 lengths. A three-time Grade I winner, she was also the most dominant filly or mare at Monday night's Fasig-Tipton sale, bringing a final bid of $5 million from Boyd Racing.“We're excited about having Ways and Means,” said Boyd. “She's just an amazing horse and we're excited to see what her future brings. It's a decision that my wife, Jenny, and I will make together along with the advice of our Boyd Racing president, Brittany Linton, and then of course talking with Chad. So the great thing about a horse like Ways and Means, there's lots of possibilities and we just want to do what's best for her.”Wednesday afternoon, Brook Ledge transportation posted a reel of her arriving at Brown's barn on Instagram.
