Bitcoin: Waiting for the Breakout

Bitcoin: Waiting for the BreakoutBitcoin / TetherUSBINANCE:BTCUSDTpullbacksignalAfter several consecutive stop-losses, it is easy to start questioning everything: the strategy, the market, and even our own decisions. But this is exactly when discipline matters most. We should review our execution, stay committed to a tested system, and keep risk under control rather than making emotional decisions to recover losses. The H1 Setup BTCUSD Bitcoin has made a strong recovery from the $79,100–$79,500 area and is now consolidating inside a short-term descending channel. This structure could become a bullish continuation pattern, but the breakout has not yet been confirmed. The plan is simple: wait for the pattern to break before considering a long position. Scenario 1: Buy After a Confirmed Breakout The upper descending resistance is currently around $80,800–$81,200. I want to see: A convincing H1 candle close above the descending resistance. A successful retest, with price holding above the broken trendline. Bullish price action confirming that buyers are taking control. If these conditions are met, the first short-term target is $83,000. The next important mid-term resistance is around $85,000. A brief move above the trendline without a proper close or successful retest is not enough confirmation for me. Scenario 2: Buy From the Support Zone If Bitcoin pulls back before breaking the pattern, the $79,100–$79,500 area remains an important zone to watch. A long position can be considered only if price returns to this area and shows a clear bullish reaction. I do not want to place a blind buy order simply because price reaches the zone. Invalidation $79,100 is the invalidation level for this bullish setup. If price loses this level, the current bullish scenario is no longer valid. Risk must be managed accordingly. What Is Driving the Recent Recovery? Bitcoin's sharp rebound was supported by several factors. 1. Short liquidations Reports showed more than $950 million in crypto liquidations, including approximately $560 million in short positions. Forced short covering can accelerate a rally, although it does not necessarily mean that strong new spot demand has entered the market. 2. Improving risk sentiment After the initial reaction to the US midterm election results, broader risk appetite improved. A weaker US dollar and a recovery in US equities also helped support cryptocurrencies. 3. Social sentiment remains cautious Santiment-related data showed that Bitcoin's bullish-to-bearish comment ratio had fallen to around 0.51, meaning bearish comments were dominating. This creates an interesting contrast with the price recovery, but sentiment alone is not a trading signal. 4. ETF outflows remain a concern US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $1.16 billion in net outflows across the three trading sessions ending November 3. This is worth monitoring because a sustainable recovery would be more convincing if supported by renewed spot demand. 5. Political and security risks The US midterm results raised questions about the future path of crypto regulation. Meanwhile, the recent Binance security incident added pressure to an already fragile market. Important Events Ahead Traders should also keep an eye on the economic calendar: November 5:Bank of England rate decision, US productivity data and jobless claims. November 6:US Nonfarm Payrolls and unemployment rate. November 10: US CPI inflation report. These events can affect the dollar, bond yields and overall risk appetite, potentially increasing volatility across crypto markets. My View The recent recovery is encouraging, but I am not interested in chasing the move. The market has already made a strong rebound, and the current H1 structure still needs confirmation. I would rather miss the first part of a rally than enter before the setup is ready. A confirmed breakout and retest offer one opportunity. A bullish reaction from the support zone offers another. Until then, patience is part of the strategy. Risk Warning: This analysis presents possible market scenarios, not guaranteed outcomes. Cryptocurrency trading involves substantial risk. Always define your invalidation level, use appropriate position sizing, and never risk more than you can afford to lose.
